While June 22 remains a ways away still, I am hard pressed to imagine international borders opening while provincial borders such as Ontario/Manitoba remain closed. Hopefully that changes with Ontario's phase 1, but Manitoba is currently in worse shape than Ontario so it may be more dependent on them. Regardless you have to feel horrible for another season of camp owners being strung along

Hopefully this happens. One of my fishing partners is too young for the shots. Anything positive is good news.

The logistics seem tight.
Get covid test June 23
Get test results June 25, buy fishing license and two year conservation card
Drive to border late June 25 from Des Moines
Sleep 4 hours at motel in International Falls
Show test results, passport, and vacination card to border guard with a smile

Can you buy fishing license and con card at sports store in Ft. Francis? Just in case we can't cross border.

An outdoor card + 8 day conservation fishing license is less than $33 USD. Buy it and consider it a donation to Ontario's MNR if you can't cross. I'd be more worried about the cost of testing (potentially both ways) and where you are going to find a bed in NW Ontario on a Friday night if you happen to test positive on your return trip.

I called our lodge in Manitoba this morning to check the status, and they said that they have also heard the rumors of some type of change by June 22, but said that there is next to zero chance of Manitoba being open by then with the current situation there where they are still sending ICU patients to other provinces. Even if the international border opens in some form, he said that lodges in Manitoba would not be able to open for the foreseeable future.

The last information I saw was that it was only the U.S. side of the border was going to open, allowing Canadians to cross into the U.S. . The Canadian side would remain closed to U.S. citizens and returning Canadians would be subject to quarantine. Did I miss something?
