Default Salmon Cookbook

Wondering if anyone could help out with a good recommendation for a salmon cookbook? I can search for recipes online, but would just like a book or two to have around. I'm really surprised that stores that cater to Great Lakes fishing, don't carry something like this. Would make a great item for additional sales.

I seem to remember the LL Bean Fish and Game Cookbook having some good recipes for salmon (and a lot of other things.)

I mostly like salmon just grilled or broiled with nothing on it. Once in a while I'll use this simple recipe to dress it up:

1. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise with a lot of dill weed.

2. Broil or grill the salmon.

3. Spread the dill mayo sauce on it.

I'm sorry I can't be more precise about the measurements.

You can search for a salmon cookbook online too. This looks like a good one.

I don't like eating salmon...wish I did...so, I haven't tried any of the recipes.

If you like salmon with dill mayo, try cooking it with garlic dill mustard and Italian bread crumbs It's our favorite way to prepare salmon. I buy Norm Bishop Garlic Dill Mustard from the Mustard Museum on-line store and always keep a few jars in the house.

Thanks everyone, I have looked at Amazon, was just wondering if anyone had actually tried any of them. I'll show my wife your suggestions, and we'll have to try some.

We've been happy with this one. We eat a lot of salmon.

If you want to try the garlic dill mustard method I described, our favorite way to cook that is with the salmon wrapped in an aluminum foil package with the edges tightly crimped to seal. We put the package on a gas grill at high heat. When the foil package balloons up (6-8 minutes for smallish pieces of salmon), the salmon is done.

Marinade the salmon in a mixture of maple syrup and chilli flakes for 24 hrs then put on a cedar plank or smoker. Brush the salmon with the mixture as it cooks

Such a good sweet taste with a bit of heat.
