Most of us are dancing around the same fire. Get some confidence by being successful and go from there. Bob

The single most effective way to catch more fish is to simply be on the spot on the particular body of water - where there are many more fish.

---------------------
In a nutshell -- don't flail the water with lines, rods, reels, lure and or bait - if you are not fishing in a part of the water where there are no fish.

However, often this is harder to do than not.

Best wishes

Without a doubt the advances in electronics and reliable paper maps have helped improve my chances of catching fish. Watching different fishing shows has helped me understand why some areas hold fish and others don't. About a month ago my brother and I spent a couple of days fishing Sturgeon Bay. Neither of us fished it before, using maps and his Lowrance unit we were able to catch our share of smallies and drum, no walleyes though. Did not venture far out into GB as we did not have enough boat. Going to hit it up again next year for a week with a better boat.

It's incorrect to say going more often makes you better. You can do something a million times and still suck at it.

That's a smartass reply. Time on the water has improved my fishing more than anything that money can buy. Sure, the latest and greatest of everything helps, but there's alot more to it than that.

Macdonald's has made millions of burgers and they suck. Americans have made millions of cars and they suck. You've made millions of comments and this one sucked. If improvement is not the goal, it won't happen and it might not happen even if it is.
