Default Digital chip for Canada

Posted this in the Canadian discussion also, so I apoligize for those of you who got this twice but I have a good deal going on this chip and don't want to loose it. Does anyone know if the MSD PREM-C6 Navionics HotMaps Premium Lake Maps Canada shows good detail of Gullrock Lake? Looking to get a good digital chip for this lake and looking at this one, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys, Jim

Send a email to: [email protected] and ask them how old is the card and if lake Gullrock is on the chip.
You can look here to see if the lake is on the new chart:
https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=f...y=ostyGrt%7D_O
I think it's a pretty old card.

I've been using it for several years up there. It will get you close but that's about it. With that being said it sure is better than nothing, then mark the actual structure with waypoints. Since autochart live came out I have been live mapping all of my time up there, I'm starting to have one heck of a map of gullrock.

Hot off the presses, lakemaster now has an Ontario card that does include gullrock.

Checking out Lakemaster and I see they now offer a satellite overlay of contour maps. Something I've tried to do on my own but found it to be too complicated.

That is interesting. I've asked LM if they were planning to come out with a Ontario chip several times, but have never heard that they were. I use the Navionics Canada map now, I wonder if the LM chip is any better than the Navionics version. I'd guess they're both showing 20' contours for the non-HD lakes.

There's been a huge winter kill in that lake. All the walleyes have died, the northerns have all swam upstream, and the perch have all been eaten by the eagles. Looks like you should probably look for another lake........unless you like eelpout. 😉

I heard the exact same thing johnboat!...pity, not worth going to now... I did order the navionics Canada and Alaska map this morning (going to Canada in June and Alaska in July), not the one I mentioned earlier, but the newer version....to find another Canadian lake that is . I will post, when I get back, how detailed, or not, the map actually was. Thanks everyone for your responses.

Yep, I've been getting pictures of all the winter kill from our lodge owner. He was blowing up my phone Saturday while I was trying to fish.

Default Nice chip!

Just got my new chip and am very impressed 1' contours!! Won't be able to comment on accuracy until after the 22nd of June but it looks right sitting in my shed in west central WI. I did an update/register on it this a.m. and it took about an hour but very pleased with how it looked after putting it in my unit. Now if it says I am in 20' of water and sitting on a rock in the middle of Keg Lake (really happened) I will have a much different opinion but pleased so far. To bad about the huge fish kill though on Gull Rock....just isn't worth going there!
