Default Dual power source for second depth finder

I just installed my new Garmin 73SV and I used the same power source that my old Lowrance Eagle Ultra plus was connected to. To keep my old Eagle on standby, or sync'ed to my Terrova troller, can I tie the power lead to the same lead as my new Garmin? I would like to mount the Eagle up by the bow for front seat use if possible.

Yes. While it may use wire as small as 16ga or even 18ga. for your old unit, for a longer run, I'd move up to 14 ga., so you don't lose too much voltage due to wire size. Additional power draw for two is not much, so no worries about battery capacity.
