Default Yamaha reliance props

Tried a Yamaha reliance prop on my 2013 f150. Had wells full and 2 300lb guys. Was able to try a 13 3/4x19p hole shot was decent top end good but only 5400-5500rpm. Looking into buying a 14 1/4x18p since it's all I can find in a 18. It should get my rpm's up but what is the larger diameter gonna do, anything? Also where as to rpm's is everyone running there 150 yammy's?

At full trim, my 150 runs about 5600 rpm with just me and its the 13 3/4 19p prop. I was also thinking of trying a 18p, but not sure that its necessary, the holeshot is good enough, but I would like the extra ~200 rpm that an 18p would give me

In my experience with a couple of buddies boats they didn't seen any more rpms or better hole shot between the 18 and 19p. The 19p had better top end though. My one buddy runs the 19p on his MX1825. Hole shot is ok but not if having 4 adults. 5900rpms.

My boat is a 2003 pro v tiller with a 2013 150 yammy. It's by far been the best all around prop I've tried, and fastest. Can get it for a great price since its been in stock in the place in buying from since 2007 so great price as to ordering a new one (this one is brand new). Was debating on Raising my motor to the 3rd hols it's currently on the 2nd. If it works out should gain a few rpm and speed I think. It's easy enough to do for me so I think I will try that. Any thoughts?

I was curious about this as well, as it could give me the rpm gain I want without changing props. What would be, if any, the downside to raising it 1 hole? I have to trim the motor completely to the top before the cavitation plate is above the water surface, and even then it is just barely. Does raising the motor make sense?

I think it's one of those things you just have to try. It's not a hard adjustment to make. Talking to a yammy mechanic tells me the reliance is a "surface bearing" prop so it can handle some air. I'm hoping my boat can handle the adjustment. My previous motor was. 2003 merc 115 efi 4 stroke, and my new motor is this 2013 yammy f150. The yammy is significantly heavier and i notice a difference in the way the back end sits in the water, not much lower but noticeable. Any ways once I get a chance im going to raise and see what happens. Will post results. Going to make adjustment and run the reliance 12 3/4x19.

Well I was able to do some test running this evening. Went out with the motor on 2nd hole and took everyone down. Went back home jacked up motor to 3rd hole (1 beer job) then back to water 40min later so was able to test on same conditions. Didn't get any top end gains like we had hoped to see, but hole shot seemed better? Tough to gauge that one when the hole shot was good on both hole settings. The defiant gains tho were, was able to get 100-150more rpm, and emilimated all torque at top end trimmed out. The boat is a pro v 1900 tiller with a custom hydro assist. Was noticing tourqe when at wot trimmed out and by moving motor up to 3rd hole eliminated that. Going to leave it here and run it for a bit and see how it handles in rough water. The cavitation plate still is not completely out at wot trimmed out but the gains already seen are very noticeable and benifical. Possibly try the 4th hole out of curiosity if the 3rd will handle everything as I want it to.

I'm guessing raising it would help even more. Your 2003 only has a 20 in transom while the 2006 and up models have a 25 in. So from the start you are 5 in lower. Good luck
