Default Jig Colors

In no particular order the colors that work the best for me are as follows:

Pink/ White
Chartruse/ Lime Green
Orange/ White
Plain Lead

I have not had any luck on blue jigheads.

We have been selling jigs for 10 years and have sold over 30,000 jigs. Top colors have been as follows.

Char
White
Pink
Orange
Yellow
Purple
Blue
Black

Fisherman in the midwest and Canada seem to buy more of the lighter colors. Guys in the east and river fisherman seem to buy more of the darker colors.

X2 what Whit said. Plain lead can be the ticket some days.

I believe Doug Stange only uses unpainted lead jigs...

My confident color is Chartreuse. I really like Junebug color for my dark color!

I'm trying to go with a more simplified approach to what I stock in my tackle boxes. 2 bright colors, and 2 darks. At least one color matches forage.

I have about 15 different colors of powder paint. I'm getting sick of carrying 20 pounds of lead with me every time I fish. Also, with crankbaits, I'm getting sick of buying 2 of every color on the shelf (now over 650 crankbaits in my boxes).

You have really got to try the Super Glow Orange, it glows like fire!!!

Apply 2 coats over a white base coat.

+1 also try some browns and dark oranges, as well as blacks in clear water. Most people think that browns or dark oranges are for bass in clear water, but they work good for walleyes too.
