I always spray the portion of my line that is adjusting the bobber stop with Pam, sliding the bobber stop heats up the line and becomes the weak link

Re: Sliding - Yeah, I always feel somewhat destructive when sliding the knot, thinking perhaps, I could be weakening the line. For that reason, I am careful to avoid sliding quickly, rather, just a slow move.

Question Dedicated slip bobber rod

Looking to get a rod that will be used for fishing slip bobbers. Has anyone used this one? How did it work for you?
Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite Graphite Float 'n' Fly Spinning Rod 8'

7.5'-8' Med - med light rod, size 2500 spinning reel, 30# braid main line. This is the order I rig my slip bobber set ups: Slide small bead on, slide thill pro series float on, slide 1/16-1/8 bullet weight on, slide another small bead on, tie on a small power swivel. 4-5 foot 6# flouro leader with 1/16 - 1/8 live bait jig head on. For a bobber stop, I use 30# Fly line backer in orange, all you need to do is tie a uni knot onto the main line. This system has never let me down.

I basically run the same set-up, but have never tried the uni knot as a stop. going to try that, great idea.
