It's a re-badged Suzuki,...

Never heard anything bad about them,...

Suzuki is like Honda, They have been building motors for a very long time and are very good at it.

Default 2004 Johnzuki

I have a 2004 Johnzuki 115 on a Mr Pike 17. This is the second one I've owned. The first was an all black Suzi 115 on a Ranger 620 tiller. The black 115 was a 2004 that I bought in 2008, used through 2010 and sold with 1200 hours - still ran like new. The black Suzi treated me so well that I later bought and still own a 2004 Mr. Pike with a white 2004 115 Johnzuki. I have owned owned the white 115 for the last 5-6 years and have no idea of the motor operation hours which to me doesn't matter; it runs flawlessly. It pulls the kids tubing and knee boarding and lets me run some very shallow rivers where the whisker fish swim unpressured. Spark plugs, oil and lower unit fluid changes are all I do with it and it purrs. I later found that a prior owner repaired the white motor skeg. I ran the lower unit through a shallow sandbar on a river trip. Later at the landing I noticed that a prior weld repair on the skeg failed leaving a skeg-less lower unit dressed in bondo. Luckily I was able to find a $500 lower unit from a black 115 as opposed to a $3000 repair bill. Either way, I like the availability of used Suzuki/Johnson parts and the fact that the motor is simple enough to do any repairs myself. Also the white motor looks kinda cool with the black lower unit
