Default Have two Engels

I have the 13 and the 19, and seem to have a higher mortality rate in the 19 than I do with the 13. I also notice that running the aerators on batteries or with the 12 volt plug the aerators run at the same speed. Running either aerator through a 110v to 12v 70 watt converter the aerators run audibly slower.

At any rate, love the way these things are put together. I do use them year round.

What type of Frabill Aerator are you using. Ive heard some frabill aerators don't last long. Frabill has multiple types. Im considering the 2-speed with 12volt attachment or the Frabill Aqua-Life Portable Aerator. Any suggestions.

I have the Engle and still running the pump it came with. On the second season. I use the little 12oz pop bottles with frozen water in them. Keep several in the freezer. Wife calls them minnow pops. Vaseline on the hinges and around the cover seal in winter. So far so good.

I kept four dozen large fatheads and two dozen crappie minnows in my 19qt from midday on Friday until midday on Mon without changing the water or opening it once. I had about a dozen dead ones and then gave the rest to a neighbor on Mon. It was kept in the shade and plugged into my boat's 12v receptacle. We had a brand new camper delivered to our site on Thu and it kept us too busy to get out and fish.

I ended up with the Frabill mag because the store that wouldn't let me hold the Engle and promised that they would have the 19qt in stock when I got there was sold out.

I kept 7 dozen minnows (all 1.5-2.5") from Friday at 9am until Wednesday at 11am. I ended up with an extra 5-7 dozen on Monday. The batteries lasted the whole time and I didn't lose but 6-10 minnows. I gave away 3 dozen minnows at the ramp when I was leaving. I do like the Frabill and didn't have any issues. I guess I will see how long it lasts.

Those are good numbers. What size magnum and how much did it cost, if you don't mind? I believe I paid $80 for my 19 engel 2-3yrs ago but have already replaced the pump once.

I got the 19qt. It was $89 bucks. It came with the AC plug in and I was only planning on using that when the batteries quit. I did change the water once I go the extra minnows.
