Thinking about fabricating a pole that would be removable on the front of the boat near the trolling motor for a Total Scan (Lowrance) transducer. That way I could use the side scan and it would always be stable and not turning with the trolling motor. It would be hooked to the bow sonar unit.
Has anyone done this and can they provide some photos ? My plan is to hook it up to a removeable gunwale mount to get it out of the water when running. dvl2700

Use mine for HB 360 and a Airmar 165 HW Here is what I like about this bracket: 1) Stows and deploys separate from the electric trolling motor. 2) Solidly mounted (it stays solid at crankbait trolling speeds 3) Mount on the same plane or line as the electric trolling motor 4) The last photo is the rotatable model 5) Easy to deploy and mounts on the sport track option ^) Holds heavier transducers in place without wobble I find being able to read depth on the bow and transom by networking two lowrance units is so valuable when drifting a slope (drop off) also forward trolling crankbaits the reason i have the Airmar TM 165HW on the bow, wider view. So many good reasons to have a transducer on the bow. My panoptix PS-31 forward view is mounted on the terrova for scanning forward and can be controlled at the stern. When using multiple transducers need to be able to adjust frequencies, eliminating interference. Last edited by Gary Korsgaden; 10-29-2020 at 04:24 AM. Reason: add photo |

I made one like this. DIY PVC mount. Has a RAM electronics mount with u-bolts to attach to the PVC pole. The RAM is then attached to a Cisco track mount. Use mine for Livescope but would work with others.
