Networking Lowrances

Planning on networking a x11 to HD unit, I think I have the wiring all figured out, planning on using enternal antenna in the HD. Would the x11 work doing it this way? Or do I need to buy an external

I am not familiar with the X11. However if it has a nmea 2000 connector, if you set the GPS source as the external it should work. Providing you connect everything up of course...
