Default garmin

Friend of mine just had a garmin 93sv installed on his bass boat. even in sonar mode he could not get it to read over 15 mph. Called garmin and they said that was true with all of their units. I cannot believe that. I told them their pro's have to be doing something. Anybody with any insight. I thought maybe it was his transducer installation but they have moved it.

I just installed a 93sv myself, I had reading on hard bottom in 90' of water up to about 22 and lost it, I am going to tinker with my transducer placement. I am convinced it will do much better than that. WOT on my boat is 30 and I am hoping for the best! I won't get back out for a few days.
I sure hope what you were told is wrong...I think I have read where it works much better than that on some other forums where there seemed to be more threads on the Garmin products.
