VesselView and Lowrance Gen2 NON-Touch

Repowered an old boat with a 2013 Optimax ProXS. Would like to be able to display engine data on my Lowrance HDS8 Gen2. Before I purchase the Vessel View Kit, can some one confirm whether the NON-Touch Gen 2 HDS units will work with Vessel View or Merc Monitor?

The Merc Monitor will. I don't see why the Vessel View wouldn't. I had a gen2 8 with the Merc Monitor and all motor status/functions could be displayed from a Verado.
