Default Ranger Bimini Top - Up or Down When Towing?

Do you guys tow with your top up, with front supports connected to the windshield frame, or down, with the front supports disconnected and the top laying on the rear gunnel?

Not sure how yours is mounted, but a buddy has had issues with the mounting bolts coming loose where the supports are located on his new 1880 MS. He doesn't even tow with the bimini up, open or closed. He only uses it while on the water. As for me, I never tow with my bimini raised.....always secured and lying down in the boat.

I should’ve clarified that in either position it wouldn’t be opened. It’d be closed with the cover on.

For sure down while towing. I also normally fold it down if I am going to be going over 40 on the lake. Even with it closed it seems like it would be hard on the mounts going high speed. Plus even with a cover on. It seems to whip pretty good going fast.

I've had the thing start trying to rip itself apart (even when closed) out on the water with any real speed or waves, I can't imagine trying to tow it on a road up. Not to mention, why make your rig any taller and add more drag?

In other words, It's always down unless I'm actively using the top.
