You'll have no trouble getting that troll time out of a 36v motor. Get as big as batteries as you can fit, group 31's if you can. For comparison I was running group 29's on my 18.5 Tyee with a 36v 105 Xi5 and trolled for 9 hours at 1.5 mph before they gave out.

So the statement that you are limited to Minn Kota is not correct. Lowrance and Garmin do have the best trolling motors on the market at the moment. Both brushless (less energy consumption and more power at the same time) and newer than anything Minn Kota can offer at the moment.

I think we need a little more time to see if Lowrance and Garmin are the best trolling motors on the market!
