Default Need to Blow two $600 stimulus checks - lithium batteries!

I just got the second and have been hanging on to my first Covid stimulus check!
The bar opened last weekend and pulled another $600 in tabs!!

It should be enough to fulfill my dream of a 36V lithium battery setup!!!

Question for all of you that have went to Lithium batteries:

What do I need for a charger?
Will my Minnkota 460PC work for recharge?

Take a trip to your local Lithium battery supplier and work with them to answer all of your questions.

Many times, a Lithium battery is very charger specific. i.e. many lithium batteries have internal electronics that are designed to work with a very specific charger.

If in doubt - go with the Lithium batteries specific battery charger.

and NO,

not all on board chargers will work with all Lithium batteries.

So, before installing new Lithium batteries, be sure that you have the correct charger to work with your specific battery.

Take care

I know it's a long read but this post on BBC will answer all of your questions, you just have to weed through a lot.
http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=982657 Lots of questions dealing with 36Volt setups.
I am switching to Lithium this spring and have a 460PC which will work if you use batteries with a built in battery management system (BMS). I really am impressed by https://drewcraft.com/product-catego...ium-batteries/ knowledge and answers and will definitely buy from him.

Unfortunately the government doesn't think I need new batteries so no checks for me, both last spring and now.

On my next boat i will have a 36 volt trolling motor. Thinking about going with three Lithiums and one agm starting. Using a power pole charge system. That way my big graphs can suck down some trolling motor battery power. When the starting battery starts to get low. Plus not have the issue where Mercury has some problems with lithium starting battery’s. Since I think we will be getting another check yet. My vote is you also get rid of the Minnkota. Install a power pole charge system.

Sale price on battle born.

More than likely your charger will work fine set on AGM. I have that charger and 4 Lithium batteries. Confirm that with your battery manufacturer. Bob
