You can just hook up to your fuse panel under your dash. No need to run it straight back to the battery.

Do I need two run two fuses when hooking directly to fuse block (under dash ) because I have a fuse already in fuse block and a fuse in the fuse holder on the positive wire from vhf . Also how do I hook up my vhf radio to the accessory switch so I know it’s turned off.

The fuse block will be controlled by your master power accessories switch. No other switch needed. I don’t like to double fuse a source only because it can cause some confusion if you loose power to the vhf. You can just remove (cutout) the in line fuse holder as the fuse in the block has you covered. Obviously make sure the fuse is sized appropriately.

If you have a empty slot on your fuse panel. You would use a blade fuse that match’s the fuse rating that’s on your radio power wire already. Just cut the inline fuse off. You may have to use heat shrink butt connecter to add a longer power wire. If the wire after fuse is cutoff is not long enough. To reach your fuse panel.

My boat has the glass fuses so I can’t really tell what fuse goes where and basically instead of putting my vhf radio to the accessory switch it just goes off when I turn key off?

The main fuse block under the dash (at least on every boat I have owned) is energized/deenergized with a master power switch. That could be a rocker switch or a keyed switch.

Souinds like there is an open fuse slot were you can add a new glass. Then follow what snowking and I said previously about removing the inline vhf fuse holder.
Make sure the glass fuse you add is the same size as VHF inline fuse you just eliminated.

Right the glass fuse in the inline fuse holder is a 10 amp fuse . But just curious if I didn’t want to cut the inline fuse out would it be a big deal to have a fuse in the inline fuse and fuse block will it hurt anything? Also the only switch I have is on the dash witch is the accessory switch. No switch directly underneath dash.
