Default Travel restrictions continuing for at least 6 months

Hey,

I know this is specific to NWT but it looks like 2021's fishing season is at risk per CBC.

Today is 10/1 so closed until at least April which doesn't affect open water season, but this is starting to get close to my June trip.

I imagine a lot of resorts will not survive if they keep it closed another season, I'm optimistic they will reopen in the spring but with restriction's. I just returned from my 2nd northern Minn. trip this season and the resorts are full, people are using common sense and they seem to be doing just fine. It can be done in Canada as well, just my opinion.

This whole border closure has been a joke. These monthly extension where put in place to give yòu hope and then extend it to disappoint you. Think all you guys down there should apply for PTS that this pandemic has caused.Maybe ill try it up here.Definatly hope something positive happens soon but not expecting much till after the new year.At least your all rolled over and can look forward to your 2020 trip in 2021.

Based on nothing scientific my gut feel is NWT will open after the primary border. It may be significantly after the main border. I am planning backup options where possible for my 2 NWT trips.

I hope like crazy I am wrong since the lodges up there have a LOT of my money and I love visiting but it is what it is.

I didnt want to get nuked either so kept it clean.
Access to the NWT could get held up longer than us/can border. Those folks up there are scarred to death with this pandemic as are the reserves nust north of me.Medical services there are limited to nursing stations.Just my guess.
