Default Pellet Smoker Recommendations

I currently have a propane grill and Weber Smokey Mtn. smoker. The propane grill is on its last leg and I would like to have one smoker and grill combo (pellet). Any recommendations?

I would get a reqtec. Super solid and great customer service. That’s what I’m getting if the traeger poops the bed. If money didn’t matter then I would get the top of the line MAK grill.

Pit Boss. Much cheaper than Traeger and equal quality

Nowhere near the quality of a reqtec, MAK or Memphis elite or some other ones.

I'm in the same boat...

I have a 17 year old Weber Genesis that's on it's last leg. I have a 14" Weber Smokey Mountain that I got as a gift but I think it's too small. Its tough to do a pork shoulder over 8 lbs on it.

I have have been looking closely at the Master Built Gravity Grill/Smoker. I really like the convenience of using commercial off the shelf briquettes or lump charcoal. It seems to light fast and you have the option of adding wood to the charcoal hopper for smoking. There seems to be a few issues with the build quality but that may be attributed to the 1st generation of the product.

I can hold out for another 6 months with the 2 Weber's so I'll keep following the progress with the Master Built. If they can address those issues I'll probably go with the Master Built.

I did a lot of research on this and there is another threat about it. I went with the Camp Chef XXL and it is great. Temps consistent, great smoke, great smoke rings on finished meats. Neighbor has been smoking for years and cant believe how good my stuff comes out. Just did a pork belly that he told me was the best he has had.

Stay away from Pit Boss and Master Chef.

Yeah technically you can but it’s a pain in the *** to regulate temperature for 12 hours, I had one many years ago. A pellet grill just set the temperature and it holds temperature really close for the whole cook. It’s so much better.
