Default MG Xi5 question

My fishing partner and I both have Xi55 TMs. Couple weeks ago he had a circuit board fail. He found a replacement but the replacement works only with the FOB and was told the foot pedal cannot be programed to function with the new board.

Has anyone else heard of this? Was there a change in the circuitry making the older Xi5's unrepairable?

Appreciate any insight, because if it happened to him, it will happen to some of the rest of us, too.

Xi Series Motors use the same Main Control Board and GPS system.

They can be paired with up to 3 devices including the foot pedal.

I had my circuit board replaced shortly after I got my Xi5. I just had to re pair my foot pedal and remote with the new board.
