I use them for pulling boards and they work good. I’m sure you could long line with them if you wanted to.

Ordered two of the 7’10” medium Dead Eye Rods for a tad over $26/ea + shipping. We’ll see how they work. I’ll keep an eye out for something in ML action in case these don’t work the greatest for long lining.

I bought Depthmaster 8'6" telescoping and 2pc 8' TDR's in Med and ML when I started trolling to try out a few different rods. Cabela's were the lightest but I question the durability and not bending guides. I like the ML TDR the best. I wanted to try a 7' rod and smaller reels for inland trolling. Was set on buying the Wilderness 7' 1pc but ended up with a Shimano 7' 2pc for storage reasons to always be in a rod locker.

Short answer Wilderness for budget and TDR for the next step up.

Look at Franks Great Outdoors for low Wilderness prices, TDRs I bought from FishUSA and Amazon.

Went ahead and ordered a couple Wilderness 8’ ML rods from Frank’s as well. Got a couple Daiwa Accudepth 27’s coming from Northwoods Outlet for these rods until I find another good deal on some Tekotas.

I appreciate the recommendation.
