Get home call lowrance another 30 minutes on the phone to finally get them to agree to send my unit back. Next week get confirmation the unit is bad and replacement is on the way. Week later new unit shows up I know it's a repaired unit as the serial number is lower than the one I sent in. Install and look at version...1 Pisses me off that lowrance has an upgraded software build but i have to download and install 18.3

Going to the lake later in the week fingers crossed but not confident at all

Did you try to rollback with a previous software version? Seems odd it all the sudden goes bad after an update, sometimes updates corrupt, wouldn't matter how many hard resets you do if firmware is corrupted.

Did you also try a different transducer? From this last case here with the OP you can see theset a transducer coupled go bad.

I'd be leaning towards corrupted update though. Guess it doesn't matter know really but maybe for future reference.

Go fishing walleye,

I understand! I have spent hours on the phone with lowrance and it's all I can do to understand them! I got a different unit that didn't fix so I faught and got a new ducer and that was the problem. I just updated mine also seems ok now but all in all with lowrance I will buy a different brand after this I guess birds or Garmin I know nothing about any of them. Sad I'm sure a lot of companies are like this and most will problely be like this over time. Any way good luck!

There is only the one update 18.3 1.0 is the original software. According to lowrance a hardware issue not transducer like op issue

I have a Hook2 5" Split Shot, purchased in Feb after I purchased my boat. I have not had one problem, did not have to install the update.
