Default Lund IPS vs Alumacraft 2XB...let's do this.

Looking for any and ALL comments and comparisons between these two Hull technologies. I am new to Aluminum fishing boats and they both sound great, just curious on the pros and cons of both. Thanks.

Just buy what layout works for you. Both are good hulls. I'm currently running the 2xb and it has performed better than I anticipated for gull wing hull. Very quiet and decent riding hull. I previously ran ranger pad hull.

I didn't like my ride until I went away from a bravo. In my research, 205 spt runs faster and more fuel efficient than similar sized lund pro V. This is based on my personal data and performance bulletins.

Interesting, I went to the Polarcraft web site where they talk about their hulls. No mention of IPS2 that I could see. Can you direct me to that?

Good Morning TMG........

It's the same hull but Lund probably has a copy right on that name. Take a look at any recent built PK Frontier hull and you can't miss it.

So if I understand correctly, you made up the part about Polar Craft having the IPS2 hull just to get a mention for Polar Craft when the OP was specifically asking about Lund & Alumacraft?

Ding, ding a couple more replies for your thread count.

First learn how to spell Polar Kraft....and no it has the same hull as a Lund.

Btw don’t care about post counts and have said at least once before I wish they would delete them.

Both are quality built boats, it's kinda like the Ford vs Chevy debate. However, I believe Alumacraft uses only aluminum in their transoms and Lund still has a composite transom. I remember some previous threads on here talking about the problems people have had with the Lund composite transoms. Just something to think about. Also, you'll find that on average the Alumacraft is less money than the Lund and you can get the Alumacraft with a Yamaha, Mercury, or Suzuki whereas Lund pretty much restricts you to only a Mercury. Both brands hold their resale values really well.
