Default Elk River Rods - newer models

I've seen a few mentions of this company, but those are several years ago.

Am considering getting a rod or 2 from this company.

Has anyone purchased or have experience with the newer Silver XP or the Mod-Flex series of walleye rods?

Thanks

Bought one of their rods several years ago. Pulled it out of the rod locker and the tip was broke. I thought it was my fault but called the company and spoke directly to one of the owners. He told me to send it in and if they determined it was a defect I get a free rod. I had nothing to ship the 7 ft rod in so they sent me the rod first and instructed me to send the broken one back in the box. So I did and never heard from them. I called them again and they recalled our conversation and said to just keep the rod no charge. They had a replacement policy of regardless how the rod broke I could replace it for half price (I think). Seeing I felt I had not knowingly broke the $180.00 rod I sent them a check and thanked them for their outstanding customer service.
Long story eh? I love the rod.

I made a road trip up Phillips,Wi to visit the shop, instead of ordering online. I figured it would be good to see the shop, meet the owner and ask alot of questions.

Marc, the owner, talked with me for quite awhile and I chose a 7ft mod-flex medium.

Overall, it was great trip and plan on testing out the rod over the couple of weeks, doing some jig/minnow fishing for walleye.

I’ve heard Elk River rods are good and met the people at Dane Co Fishing expo this year. Nice people. Don’t have one myself yet. I’ve become a rod collector like many others on Walleye Central. Here’s another WI option: Kraemer Custom rods. Erik is out in West Bend and makes outstanding rods. I have a Joe Pro and a ZR that I bought from him this year. The Joe Pro for the $$ is unbelievable.
