Best Riding Walleye Boat in Rough Water

Opinions?
How does one prove this out without riding in every stinking boat brand and model.
All on a single afternoon with the whitecaps being the same for each ride.Has anyone been able to do this comparison?
I beleive the longer the boat the better the rough water ride will be.

How much does the seat suspension come into play?

I would say that most people on this site would steer towards the bigger walleye boats.

Ranger 621
Skeeter 2100 or the new 2190???
Yar craft 219

Any boat will benifit with the use of suspension seats. One of the best additions I put in my boat!

You should throw the 203 Warrior into this mix and look at one. Very very good in rough water and dryer then any boat I have been in. Wide open floor space has some great advantages as well.

IMO the 2100 rode better then the 621. I have obviously spent a lot of time in the 2100 since I owned one but have rode plenty in the 621 and have also ran against them in the rough water many times. The 2100 is a lot deeper inside as well, being able to sit up higher(seat height) lets one use their legs more instead of every jolt going up your back. Ranger also spears waves and thats no secret. When spending the money on a big boat I am gonna buy what I think is the best ride regardless of brand!! The new 2190 should be sweet.

I have not got the chance to ride in the Yar Craft but they seem to ride pretty good by the looks of it.

Seat suspension does also make a big difference. Not in how the boat rides of course but being able to push it a little harder and not get banged up. I have ran Smooth Moves in my last 2 boats and they will be installed in the new boat as well!!

Brett is right as well. The warrior is a good boat. Dad owned 4 of them back in the day, have yet to get into a new one though.

The largest boat you can afford and trail with the deepest vee hull and decent spray rails on the bottom of the hull as it transitions to the sides- which many times will be a Starcraft.

Lets not forget to throw the Tuffy 2060 and 2100 into the mix. Deep insides and still working the glass side of the house. Great dry ride when I have been in them.
The stepchild however Stratos is trying to come up into the fishing world of the Deep V. Made by Ranger, I have not been in the bigger ones but I guess it would be worth a look after my experience with the 1760DV. I will however agree Ranger beats the crap out of your back on a long run and rough water. Look into something that will get you higher so you can use more legs instead of lower back.

Not sure how you can make that statement. Comparing the wave smashing ability of a Ranger and a skeeter is like comparing the towing ability of a Fiat with a diesel F250. My 2050 and my new 621 DO NOT compare with the wave crushing ability. My 2050 curled up in a ball and hid every time i rode over waves larger than 2.5ft.

Did I say 2050? If you wanna compare your old 2050 go back to the 07' and earlier Rangers and I would say it was better then those. I also owned a 2050, ran the 2100 the last 2 years. The 2100 is night and day difference compared to the 2050 in rough water ride and the 2190 from the little I drove it will be a big step from the 2100.

And yes I will honestly say I would rather be in my old 2100 over a new 621. If not I would own a Ranger.
