Al if you value the sound quality
Avoid Bluetooth and wire direct or use a wifi transmitter
Bluetooth bandwidth is limited and sound quality suffers

Even an old Apple TV or apple airport express wifi has audio out.
Those support toslink optical digital and the express supports analog & toslink
Then airplay from the iPod

should be able to find these used on FB marketplace or craigslist for well under $20

or find yourself a Google ChromeCast Audio and cast the audio, Google discontinued those some time back
@ $15 each, they are a more difficult find now, but put out great audio without compression

if the old stereo supports HDMI input, then you can use the more popular chromecast streamer just for audio

Thanks, still using that comp I got from you btw..

Not sure what a chromecast audio is, but I'll look it up.
Ya would be nice to not only play CD's, wav and Mp3's but be able to listen to Pandora all through the same system.
I like Peter Green a lot but his CD's are hard to find, Pandora has a bunch of his stuff.

The old Pioneer 939 does not support HDMI btw

Thanks much.

FYI, the Pyle Bluetooth Amp I mentioned will do all those things (CD player just plugs into it) You can stream too with it through your phone.

OK, found the CD/DVD player for CD's, but Pandora still seems to have a problem.

How do I navigate pandora with what has been suggested here?
Also haven't got there yet, but I'm assuming there might be a way to run thumb drives/Mp3's and Wav files too, but I need to control them too?

Al

Ok, Gotta love the chat feature some companies have.
Appears to control pandora I need either a smart phone or tablet, not using the phone but I do have a tablet, I hook that up to the receiver with a mini plug to RCA jacks and plug into the receiver.

I think I can use the thumb drives in the tablet and they will play through the receiver...I hope.

maybe....
