Default Humminbird helix 9 sonar gps question

Just bought a new boat.. Is equipped with the helix 9 sonar gps.. I don't believe it has di or si.. Just the 83/200 kxz transducer.. I guess for now was wondering if anyone had some decent settings to start off with.. Also am curious if this unit is capable of upgrading to hdsi transducer and have the side imaging.. Kinda just getting the feel for it. Thanks for any info

Here's a link to the operations manual for your unit IF it's a G3N model.

I have always had good luck starting out by setting it to the "default" settings. Then use the "simulator mode" and just tweak until you feel comfortable with what you are seeing. The settings you tweak in simulator mode remain when you go into "normal" mode out on the water. If for some reason you feel that you aren't happy about your tweaks you can always go back and start over by just hitting default again.

addition of a SI capable transducer will NOT give a non-SI unit SI capabilities.
