Default Slip Bobbers and Super Line

Lately I am having a lot of issues with my slip bobber rigs. Does anyone have any tricks to stop bobber stops from sliding or chewing up line?

thanks

Make a loop around your fingers with the line. Slip the end of a small rubber band through the loop, and tuck the other end of the rubber band through that part that's sticking out through the loop in the line. Pull the rubber band tight, then gently tighten the line loop around the knot in the rubber band. You now have a bobber stop with no slippage, and no line wear.
I use rubber bands as line releases with my down riggers. This works.

Try the ''sticky stop bobber stop" Its made by jacks tackle. It even works on braid.

Two knots back to back work well also.

The best thing with slip bobbers and super line is to put the bobber on a reel that has mono on the reel.

No issues with the knot slipping on the line.

Really no real reason to use super line on a slip bobber, unless you have some very unusual circumstance.

Take care

Have to agree with REW n this one, slip bobber fishing with mono works fine and the stops stay in position.

I have one rod set up with 4# and one with 8# clear blue Stren and they have worked well for many years.

Default Snags

Many of you have obviously never bobber fished in snag infested waters like Devils Lake timber. If so braided line will get 2 to 3 times as many fish to the boat as mono. Want to know how I know?

Find slip bobbers that have a copper insert that runs through them. Problem solved.

Good fishing!

I use a string stop and just leave about 1/4 inch tag end so I can occasionally re-tighten the knot. This works well for me and I not consider it a nuisance. Braid works well around multiple snags such as brush and shore clutter, as the line floats, giving better visibility as to the line location between the bobber and the rod.

I can think of two good reasons - lots of snags/weeds and the big one for me visibility.
