Default Lose your keys or your phone?

My "tile" saved the day finding my keys again. Most of you are probably aware of this handy little gadget, but if not, I would highly recommend checking it out.

It costs about $25 for one single tile. There are multiple varieties, but I have the key chain type. Put the app on your phone and connect to the tile. Put the tile on your keychain.

Now if you misplace your phone, you can push the button on the tile to make your phone ring, or use your phone to make your keys ring (if they are in bluetooth range)

The app will also keep track of the last place (and how long ago) your keys and phone were in range of each other, so if you can't find your keys, you can look at the app and it will give you the last location.

They even make sticker ones for your TV remote. I've had mine for over a year and battery still going strong.

My wife got me one for Christmas - as a not-so-subtle hint that I have a habit of losing things. Fortunately, I haven't had the need to use it yet, perhaps just to spite her.

I don't think that would have helped me much when my keys fell out of my pocket into Lake Erie.

Default Key/Phone locator

What's the name of the thing? How about a link to it so we can get it?

After reading this I became curious and sure enough, they are tracking and selling your info and location data. They hoover up even more if you connect your device to a social network.

This is from their site:
"We may share your personal information (including your location information and your Tile devices' location information) with our third party service providers or affiliates, as authorized by us to collect, process and use your personal information as data processors on our behalf, such as, for instance, cloud based and hosting services, technical service providers, mail carriers, communication agencies and customer support service providers; these parties may be located in countries outside of your jurisdiction, including but not limited to the USA."
