I gave up and stuck with the new password I was assigned, as the website wasn't allowing me to change it and no one with administrative capability bothered to respond when I asked for assistance.
I like a lot of the folks participating here, I've gotten great advice from some of them on various things and of course I love the subject material, but I've participated in a number of internet forums over the years and this is by far the worst run that I've encountered. Gerry |

gave up on password
This site is on life support for a lot of obvious reasons. It's unfortunate, my visits are less and less frequent but I do check in on occasion by chance there's a good (helpful) thread in the works. Gave up on my password fiasco long ago.

Change password
once you get the password in your email open the specified page then go back to your email and copy the new password making sure to have no spaces.... typing it in does not seem to work. Then log in with the new password and then go the the left side and click User CP and scroll to edit password. that is where you change it.

I got a temporary password however many years ago that there was the big snafu. Copied it to a note and never changed it. No problems. It's not supposed to work but it does and I don't care what my password is on this site.

You think that username and password change would be a easier task. Its plain evil on this site. Should be link in email, not copy paste hocus pocus or typing temporary that does not work. It's been that way forever and you would think Admin would straighten it out. Hint hint.
