AVG Update Warning
I put in the update AVG kept flashing, not an upgrade-just an update. Everthing on my computor locked up, I couldn't even turn the thing off! Took it to our IT guy who told me he's fixing 6-8 computors a day for people that did the upgrade. It cost me $40 but all you need to do(if you can) is remove AVG and install the earlier version. BEWARE

I changed to AVAST free the last time people were having trouble with AVG and have been very happy with it.

I've run AVG in a commercial environment on about 50 machines and four servers for three years now with nothing but good to say. This certainly could be correct but I've had great luck with the product...

gmerz, I have a hotel with AVG on 3 workststions and a guest computor and I have never had a problem either. I think there's just a problem with this upgrade, I'm not switching just letting people know to be careful.

I finally had it with Norton about 6 months ago and installed Avast also. I absolutely love it. Rather than have different companies for virus, spam, etc I bought the Avast suite. It was "on sale" for $30 - don't know if I caught a special or if it's regularly discounted.

IT guy told me it's just on the AVG Free 2011 upgrade and it depends how up to date you were on their list of current updates.

avg
I just installed the update last night. I have had no problems so far. The only thing I noticed is the icon on my screen disappeared and I do not have a listing for AVG in my program list. I guess I do not know if I am really covered.
