US & Canada - Navionics+ won't show wingdams

This new US & Canada - Navionics+ won't show wingdams. Even my old lakemaps pre-hummingbird shows windams. No contour lines on pool 14, same as my old lake master great plains chips, contour lines on pool 13 are weak, nothing like the hum-lakemaster IL. Ia. chip.

Will an update do any good? I was thinking about selling it, don't want to update or register unless it will help.

guess I'll find out myself. I'll have to register and update, then I'll be stuck with it. Sure am wasting a lot of money trying to figure everything out myself when I switched to hummingbird helix 7s lately.

I can't update, says it's up to date. I can re-download the whole thing, 6+ gb, or add user content. Pretty worthless for the river. Maybe it will help when I go to the great lakes.

Navionics+ Preloaded Chart Of All Usa/Canada -Marine & Lakes- Microsd that came with my new Helix 7 nav+ does not show wingdams on pool 13 and 14. No contour lines on 14. Some for 13.

I did buy a lakemaster IL Ia for my other helix 7, it has GREAT contour lines on both pools, unbelievable precision! It not only shows most all wingdams, but it is spot on most of the time (older lakemaster was off on some by 10 yards or so on some wingdams.

I am not impressed with navionics at all. The map on their site shows wingdams, but my chip does not. The chip says helix 7 on it, making it hard to re-sell. It didn't come in a case or anything, just a plastic bag. I paid $40 extra to get the card, not much better than the basemap.

DavT, I have an H-Bird 1198 and use the Lakemaster Great Plains chip for the Mississippi river. It is accurate for wingdams (in the main channel) and as far as water levels, it is pretty much at what I would consider summer normal depths. I agree with you on the Navionics chip for the river, not worth the effort. I bought an older version on WC for $25 - not sure which versions would work with your Helix unit.
