Default Minnkot Ulterra issue

Help! My mk ulterra has started to act up. When using it will quit then if I use the remote to increase prop speed it may or May not work. When it does it spin choppy and lightly sounds like it’s grinding.. If I tap the top it may work. All connections are good as is charge. Ever happen to anyone else?

Start simple first: The grinding sound and sporadic speed increase may be fishing line wrapped up in the housing.

Take that nylock nut off and the propeller (be careful that the washer and a 1”pin are likely to fall off when you take the prop off), and make sure that is cleaned out.
