This doesn't answer your quest, but I'll throw in my 1/2 cent worth. After using a hotpot for a long time, I went to a bottom flow lever activated heater. At the time, I was poring maybe more than just for single person use. I found the outlet to plug continually and just got rid of it after trying various attempts to fix. Clogging is very likely if not super pure lead is to be used. This has been my experience, I have again been using a regular hotpot, for a few years, the newer model having a heating coil on the outside, which is an improvement.

From what I understand, hotpots are very reliable and the heating elements are easily replaced. However, molten lead is no joke, and Lee Production Pot is quite a bit safer in that there is little to no risk of accidentally spilling a whole pot of molten lead.
