Often times hunters are villainized as killers, truth be known most hunters are passionate about wildlife. These people put their own welfare at risk to recover the elk.

I praise the people that save wildlife when they put themselves at risk of harm or even death. I am a deer hunter but I hunt for the solitude while hunting and the comradery at the end of the day. of course, I like seeing deer while hunting. if I saw a live deer hung in a fence I would put out every effort to save that deer.
