There is Sportsman Warehouse maybe 3 miles from me. Iíve never seen more than 30 cars in their parking lot.....half of those cars are probably employees.

There is one near us in SC, maybe 30 miles or so away. I have stopped in a couple times but they are basically Bass Pro-lite on fishing gear and Cabelas-lite on hunting/camping gear. Their prices are not competitive enough to pull customers away from BPS, Cabelas, or Academy. I donít see them lasting too much longer on their own. It was going to be a let the name hang around a bit longer (like Cabelas) if purchased by BPS or, now it will be just an empty building (like the Kmart store it went into).

There is a Sportsman Whse here in central Iowa. Bass Pro started a new store within 10 miles from Sportsman in Aug 2009 and I thought Sportsman would be closed in 6 months or so. Wrong! Sportsman is still open today.
