I pulled the trigger on a 2012 Navigator tiller with a 75 Yamaha, paired with a super nice Tennessee Trailer. Now for the other fun part of selling the Yar-craft!

Give us an update when you get her in the water. I would really like to hear what your impressions are.
Thanks! EZ |

Yeah, I'd like to hear how you like it too.
I'd have a very hard time going from a Yar-Craft or most current glass walleye boats to an aluminum. Why wasn't getting a cheap little 14 foot aluminum with a 9.9 an option for those little lakes? Or kayaks? And keep the Yar?

I know. I know. When I bought the yarcraft I thought I would have it for a long time. At 17 feet, it fishes big water like a 20 footer, and is small enough to fit in my tiny garage. But, we go to cabin every weekend, I have an extended cab truck and wife has a small SUV. With a 2 year old and #2 on the way my wife wants a van to haul kiddos and dogs around. I can't afford a crew cab truck and a van, so wife wins. We pull boat with van. The navigator is 650lbs lighter.
I will let you know how I like it compared to the yarcraft. However, I know I won't be able to match the dry one. I won't be able to take on big waves. I won't be able to run across Mille lacs comfortably to beat out an approaching storm. But someone that hits the water more often will be able to enjoy the rig and get some more great use out of it. I really have enjoyed walleye and Muskie fishing out of it. Yarcraft hulls can't be beat. I'm waiting on title from sellers bank so that I can update registration. It's expired now. John Thelen at backtroller boats is helping with the sale as a customer is selling the boat to me. John has been great to work with and love the setup and craftsmanship in his boats. I will definitely look at backtroller when I get back into a glass rig. |
