Default Milwaukee Area

Daughter has a job offer in Milwaukee WI. Not sure of a good area for her to move. Any suggestions on good neighborhoods or areas for her to move to.
Thanks.

There are definitely areas to avoid at any time of the day. And they are not difficult to spot. There are also areas that are experiencing a rebirth so to speak. Milwaukee like most major cities, have some real trouble spots, and the mayor has been in place for way longer than anyone should be, but he's a good democrat so they just keep re-electing the guy. The public schools are a mess, the police chief is of course under fire (because he would like to crack down on the law breakers, but the police and fire commision is run by ultra liberal dems) and the newspapers and television stations just turn a blind eye to it all.
But, on the good side, Milwaukee has a vibrant economy when allowed to run, and the good areas to live are in the burbs, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee counties.

Will have to get more information from her. The job proposal said Milwaukee, but it is a middle management job with a national bottling / beverage company. As a retired POE, I may stop in and chat with some of the LEO's in the area. Figure they could give me some pointers also. Thanks for the information so far.

I would consider a commute from rural area. If your in one of these counties (Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Washington and Waukesha) you have to get vehicle inspection every 2 years which can cost you if you got a older car. I'm not sure if they are still requiring the use of the crap (reformulated) gas in that area. Crime is the biggest issue with the slap on the wrist policy.

Default Milwaukee Job Offer

If your daughters job with a "national beverage company" is in Miller Valley then that area is generally safe and close to Miller Park (home of the Milwaukee Brewers). Wauwatosa is just west of that area and is safe and upscale. Access to Miller Valley good via the highway system. Definitely do not live in the City of Milwaukee due to high crime and taxes. Milwaukee has been run for decades by DEMS and is a mess as well as its school system. Recently they demoted their police chief for trying to keep the chaos in control, causing him to retire. For gosh sake, Milwaukee's mayor doesn't even live in the city of Milwaukee, he's in Wauwatosa. Living in one of the collar counties and commuting would be recommended.
