I have used bird shot and it does work some of it is dirty and will need to be fluxed. But after fluxing I have been able to pour the smallest jigs that I pour.

I use the lee precision melter http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/lead-me...307900212.aspx and a ladle. I haven't used one of the bottom pour pots but have been told that the speed that the lead does or doesn't flow can be a problem with some molds that have more details. I can pour as fast or slow as I need to with the ladle.
