Default Nungesser Lake Fires

Hope they get these fires put out, sucks for the people who were called and told not to come to camp. I couldn't imagine that phone call, I'd be devastated. Prayers for all camps on that lake.

Chuck

Is this part of the Red Lake Fire from a couple of weeks ago, or new ones popping up?
I am planning on driving up Nungesser Lake Road next week.

Nungesser road is in its path as is nungesser lake lodge. Fire is within 100 yards of camp last update given. Was just up there 2 weeks ago. Praying their camp makes it through this. Water bombers and sprinklers hitting the camp all day today.

Any word from Stormer Lake Lodge? We are due to be up there in a couple weeks. Their facebook page has yet to post anything. I am not sure how the camp can be accessed with the road closure.

I have a cottage on Coli lake , was just up there last week , extremely dry conditions, it just cannot seem to rain up there , and in the mid west it cannot stop raining. I am trying to keep in touch with my neighbors up there who live in Red Lake, they said that for now anyway Nungesser lake lodge has been saved by sprinklers and aggressive water bombing. The next ten day forecast for the Red lake area mentions no rain , very very concerning .

Default Birch Point Camp Posted

Hope things are going better for them. Birch Point Camp posting on facebook about an hour ago says the wind has shifted not out of the woods yet. Nungesser Lke Lodge had posted last night late that camp was ok but I have not seen a posting from them today. Praying for everyone to be safe and a good outcome. We go to Nungesser Lake Lodge about every 3rd year. I know the have put a ton of work into it since buying it.

I am headed to Stormer Lake Lodge July 13th. Not much we can do but pray that all of the camps are spared. Wish I was younger and could be of some help.

Looks like Birch Point Camp posted this morning that camps were ok as of this morning. Sounds like Birch Point was evacuated July 3rd to Nungesser Lake Lodge. And Anglers Kingdom was evacuated too I guess. One of them posted the fire map on facebook, it really has spread all around the lake . I think Goose Bay Camp has a camp to the east of NLL , hope its not impacted as the fire map looks like its well past that point all the way up past Wolf Island (what we call dog d!@k island) .
