I pilot link remote question

When I stow the motor the remote shows the trolling motor batteries as”red”. Once stowed the battery indicator shows “green” & looks like they are 1/2 Way charged. So I’m not sure how much charge is really left
What’s the answer?

I am sure you know there are 2 different battery indicators. Trolling motor and remote. Those indicators show how full each of those batteries are. In your case whichever indicator you are looking at is 50% charged. I may not have checked while being stowing though. Never noticed
Note. I just hook up the charger when I get home.

Yep, I know about the two indicators. I just don’t want to run out of juice and not be able to get it up, I mean stow the motor.

If you want to be "sure how much charge is really left", check your batteries with a digital multimeter or install a digital voltmeter and use the colored indicator lights only for a broad guideline.
It is not surprising that the indicator lights will display differently when the battery is under load versus at rest.

If we are talking Ulterra there is a built in safety that shuts down the trolling motor before the batteries get to low to stow the motor. In other words any time you try and turn it on or give it any command it will beep and tell you to F--off and you know the batteries are down to the limit.

LOL...true statement! I've been in this position and was grateful it did it this way.

I wouldn't want to do the manual stow with the Ulterra while out on the lake.

This doesn't work with lithium batteries. Ask me how I know?
