Bow Lift

I'm going fishing on Monday, I'll see how high the plate is
when the boat is at WOT.

The boat has a hook right in front of the transom. It's about
an 18 inch area and .413 at the deepest. there is another concave area
about 3/4 of the way up the hull, both of the areas should be fixed.

No way to do it from the inside. It would have to be done from the outside
I have a few ideas but I'm not sure yet.

This hull should go back to Lowe for replacement. There's no excuse for a hook this bad on an aluminum hull.

Is this a new boat or a new to you, used boat. If it's new or if you're the original owner then i agree with HRG. I'd give Lowe a call then. You also stated you had waves in the hull, did you buy it this way or did they develop over time or did an incident occur casing the waves and hull hooks at the same time?

I'm the second owner, not covered under the original warranty.
I talked to Roy at Lowes and he said it was not covered.


In the right light you can see some waves, when I put a straight edge
on them they are really small.

There are some waves in the hull 1/16th is about the biggest but that sure can't be any good. At $600 I can't afford too many props to try out

I just put solid plugs in the pvs holes I don't like the handling with the vents.

Trying to plane at a lower speed is impossible.
I was thinking maybe a little more lift would help and filling the pvs
should improve the lower speed planing.

I'll probably get out on Mon. or Tue. I'll Give the results.

Your prop is too tall (too much pitch). Trophy props tend to do poorly on the type of hull you have **Try a 19 Tempest. I, too, have a 115 CT (Lund 20 Alaskan) and I am completely happy with the 19 tempest.

Thanks for the advice but I tried a 19p trophy plus and a 19p
aluminum, all they did was spin. It seems I'll have to fix the hook and then look at props.

From my experience, no surprise on your results with those two props.
Trophies and Aluminum's aren't going to get you what you want on that hull no matter how straight the hull is.

slip calculator.

On the bow is a 112 lb thrust trolling motor and 3- 29 series batteries and
on board charger mounted almost even with WT windshield.

I was thinking too much weight up front and plowing or maybe it's the hull
waves. The welded seam on the back of the transom doesn't. help either.

I have the same motor on a 1750 Crestliner. I have a 21p Spitfire 4 blade aluminum and get 42-43mph. When I first got it I had a 19p Spitfire and it over revved also.
