Default 30 for 30 Of Miracles of Men

Story of 1980 Olympic Hockey Team. Remember it like it was yesterday. ESPN does a great job with these productions.

I'm a sports fan in general but these 30 for 30 documentaries are unbelievable. The Marcus Dupree "Best That Never Was" and Vlade Divac "Once Brothers" are unbelievable. They tell such unbelievable stories outside the lines on topics that aren't as deep as you realize until to see them. I've seen them all.

Really enjoyed the perspective from the "other side"
I still tear up when watching "Miracle"

I didn't see it all but the parts I did see didn't seem to give a lot of credit to the US team. The Russians seemed to say we got lucky. I'd like to see the whole thing though.

So long as you believe that chance favors the prepared mind, and that luck is that crossroads where opportunity and preparedness meet, then yeah, we got lucky.

I'd modify that to 'that chance favors the prepared mind AND LEGS'. Brooks worked those kids so they would be physically ready. The US team maybe had a little luck but they clearly outskated USSR in the 3rd period.

I didn't hurt that the Russian coach yanked Tretiak at the end of the first period.

Agreed. Bo Jackson was another. This story happens to be the highlight of my youth.

Default Miracle

Herb Brooks - the master motivator had those kids thinking it could happen..He physically prepared them to skate with the Russians.
US got outshot 37-9 and the difference was the net minder who played the game of a lifetime. Jim Craig

PS I will never forget watching that game on TV.
