I have the same boat with the 175 pro xs and with gear, gas and family of five I can regularly hit 49+ mph. With two of us in the boat, slight chop we've hit 52 mph. Running 19 Tempest w/o jack plate and around various MN lakes (~900ish feet in elevation)

Pick up both a 3 blade 19 pitch prop as well as a 3 blade 17 pitch prop and run them both on the boat in a testing environment while leaving everything else the same and let us know what your results are with respect to top rpm and top speed and hole shot with each of the props.

My guess is that one of these props will let you be a proud and happy boat owner.

Best wishes.

p.s.

You can buy a lot of stuff, for the money required to upgrade the motor to a 175 hp motor.

2021 model year 1850 Reata MS with 175 Pro XS 4 stroke. I just checked and the top transom mounting bolt is on the 3rd hole from the top.

no need to drop all the way to a 17p prop and losing maybe up to 4 mph on top end. what you need is a 19p revolution 4 it should jump you out of the hole. and with more lift and higher rpm's you may not even lose top end. 1 or 2 mph should be all you lose if anything.

I had a 21' glass cobia with a 350 Vortec 315 hp. loaded for Erie and it was a real dog getting on plane with a 19p 3 blade. I got a good buy on eBay for a 19p high five. I put it on and made a trip to Erie. I was amazed at my holeshot it jumped on plane. later I did switch the 19p to a 17 pitch to raise my rpm if I ever run wot. I don't even worry about my top end as I never run wot. pulling the grandkids on tubes I never even notice they are back there. if you switch to a rev 4 19 pitch it should raise your rpm but the holeshot will greatly improve. if you want to get closer to 6000 rpm's and greatly improve your hole shot go to a 17p rev 4. the 19p will only give you 200 to 400 more RPMs. a 17 might raise them just over 6000. but you can always back the throttle off on top end. is that the max rpm's?

Remember speed costs money, you are pretty much at your max speed. Why blow a bunch of money for little reward? If you want to fly get a bigger rig with a verado
