Thanks
I have the largest / longest ego S2 net & my buddy has the medium.

Very good nets if your a guy that takes care of his gear. If your an abusive throw it around and never want to look at it thinking it's going to work flawless under those circumstances with dirt and grime.....well.....it's not a net for you then.

Two tips I can give you with them.
1. Don't lift big fish out of the water with the net fully extended. Just net the fish then extend the net in before you lift the fish out of the water.
2. Get the deep rubber bag net. The PVC coated net is great for getting hooks stuck in the net seams. The shallow rubber net is a trampoline.....the deep bag rubber is the key.

I haven't like deep nets for just every day fishing, due to it being difficult to reach the fish at the bottom of the net.

Nephew had one in his boat and I used it. Liked it enough that I purchased one for my boat. They have the rubber nets, I have the deep net and he does not. My experience is that the normal net is ok until you get a good sized fish like a northern, that's when the deep bag is nice. We've both had them for a couple of years and neither of us have had any problems. Love the sliding option when netting a fish.

Hello: I have the long slider , works great but if I'm fishing by myself it is too heavy for me to hold my fishing rod and net the fish. Otherwise great net no problems. Good Luck . O - R

Thanks for all the great feedback. It sounds like a majority really like the S2 and recommend the longer length handle with various net styles each having their benefits.

MX2025 and Brycer, can you provide more details on how the net failed? Did you have the second generation (S2) or the first generation which others noted had issues?

Thanks again!

This pretty much my experience. I take care of my nets and the EGO has served me well.

the first was a gen 1 the next 2 were second gens. On all 3 the slide mechanism started to bind up and eventually stopped sliding. My frabil conservation series is 10 times the net the ego was.

Have had an ego net for 5 yrs or so. worked great till a buddy stepped on it and broke it where the handle screws onto the net. A pot metal part. well out of warranty. I emailed Ego explained what broke, two days later got a replacement part in the mail, no charge. I will buy another one when this one wears out.

Mine is frozen in place, POS sits in the garage. Trying to find someone I don't like to sell it to.
