Default New Jigging Rod

I know this has been beat to death but...

I have some extra cash kicking around. 2 choices i have short listed are St. Croix LTWS63MXF/ Vertical Jig and G Loomis WJR 751S. Mostly jig in 15 to 30 FOW. Not looking for any bashing just good experiences and info! Maybe i should buy both

Dave

Here is just an idea, I bought a new Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye last year and absolutely loved it. Maybe consider adding this to your list!

Default jig rod

I have a couple of the Loomis wjr rods and they are great for vertical jigging. They are built for vertical jigging and not pitching jigs--they have small guides. I prefer the Avid 63mlxf for its versatility. It has large guides on the butt end of the rod which allows easy casting, and I don't think the larger guides on the butt end have any effect on vertical jigging. I also have the legend extreme, and still prefer the avid. Good luck and tight lines.

I have several Croix jign sticks and fav is les60mlf. The ltws63mlxf seems unbalanced, its not as noticeable when using. What weight jigs are ya likely to be using? The only Loomis I have is a 6'3"wjr751s, ild compare it to Croix's 63mxf. I'm also partial to the full cork handles vs split grip.

Baker, I have been a st croix fan for years. Excellent rods. I also just picked up a Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye rod because I was impressed with the cork tac handle and the balance on the rod.
I have not used it yet but just cannot imagine not liking it. Very impressed with there quality. Get one of each and your good to go. Post your findings which you prefer.

I have a LTWS68MXF rod that I do like but it got replaced by a avid AVS69MLXF. I do like the full cork a lot also.
Back when I had a smaller boat or fish out of a smaller boat I like using my old green elite (before they were brown then green again) ES60MLFCS.

I do not have any g-loomis

Default St Croix

Would there be much difference between the Avid series vs Legend Tournament? Or is it mostly the handle choice?

Default balance

I have the Avid 63mlxf and the legend tournament built for me with a cork handle, and with a 1000 size Sustain, Ci4 or Stradic, they are perfectly balanced within 1/4 of an inch in front of the reel stem. The 6'9" rods are a little top heavy for a 1000 size reel IMO

I know it wasn't on your list but I "third" the Fenwick Elite Tech for vertical jigging. I bought one 2 years ago, liked it so much I bought 3 more last spring.
