Default T9 cables

I wonder if my cables are too long? I have the same set up as Bill and my cables come out the same outlet for the big motor?? Here are a few images of what I got

Default Cables

Dave,

I can pull my cables out quite a ways if I want to but keep them out just far enough to turn hard right. Cable should not go through the rear rail. I suppose it's possible that yours are currently longer the way they were rigged. Tough to tell from the pictures you are showing.

After years of routing cables and hoses in tight spaces, extra length and a circle are a riggers best friend.

If you run your cables out the starboard side of your gunnel, same as the main motor and then have the cables to the kicker long enough so that you can make a reasonably large circle with the cables at the motor, you will eliminate all of the stress on the cables.

The large circle of the cables will allow you to move the motor lock to lock with no pinching of the cables and the circle of the cables will also allow you to fully tilt up the motor with on pinching of the cables in any position.

You can make up a test with some some semi stiff round matrial and you will quickly see what I mean.

Take care
