Whats your favorite Spawn/Post Spawn bait?

I've used crank baits, in the fall with some good success. I've also used them moderately post spawn or in the summer along with bottom bouncing with success, and caught a few. Are cranks good in pre spawn/spawn times as well? Are swim baits better? Trigger X? Gulp? Live Minnow? Has anyone tried the Bama rig on the eyes? Here in Missouri we have reservoirs and walleyes run up the rivers. Most of the forage in them are minnows, shad, crayfish, and worms. We don't have the natural leeches like northern lakes. Any tips to a new walleye fisherman will help.
