Have you shot a bunch before or is this truly your first gun. If it is your first gun. I would just go with something like a Ruger 22. Fun to shoot and really cheap ammo most of the tine. I maybe would not go with the cheapest model ruger 10/22. Maybe a middle of the road price wise one. I do like rock river ARs. They are made in Illinois also. The 22s are cheap enough. You could always go with the AR next if you end up shooting the 22s allot. If you do get a pistal. I would suggest the 9mm not a 40. The forty’s tend to have more recoil. Plus the 9mm ammo is cheaper. The nines are fun to shoot allot of rounds with. The forty’s not quite as much.
